Ami’s Cancer Journey
Early June, our world was flipped upside down…
Ami was diagnosed with aggressive Ovarian Cancer….

Ami said this was pretty easy and painless. They removed about 2 liters of fluid.
This was to prep for the Paracentesis (Fluid Removal Procedure) and she got the green light.
Burgers and onions rings didn’t stand a chance against Joyce. No to-go box needed, thank you.
Ami and Jimmy helped Joyce display her fall decorations so that she has the prettiest door. #wreathsbyami
Yesterday’s MRI confirmed there are tumors on both ovaries. Dr. Lea’s evaluation concluded that Ami is not ready for a hysterectomy. She scheduled out three more rounds of chemo (through November) and will then reevaluate.
While the news is disappointing, we find solace in small victories- Ami’s CA-125 (protein that measures Cancer Antigen) has lowered!
Resonance Imaging Appointment (MRI)
This one was a bit nerve racking but she made it through - an hour feels like forever.
Happy Birthday Jimmy! Thank you to everyone that helped celebrate Jimmy doing Jimmy things.
Ami’s EF (Ejection Fraction) went up from 28% to 49% (normal range is 50% - 70%)! Thank you Kellye for picking Ami up form her appointment!
We had a great time at the Together in Teal Run/Walk hosted by National Ovarian Cancer Coalition! Check out some of the photos from the walk.
Thank you Chad & Kelly, Tammee & Jimmy, Sami, Lane & Marco, Mykayla, Melissa & Charles, and Sally for joining us!
